More information:
Ritual and ceremony focusing healing for Mother Earth, also Lughnasadh is honored around the first week in August and it is the first of the harvest festivals as correlated with Lammas which is celebrated August 1st and 2nd Celtic traditions along with the American tradition honors the Sun king and the beginning of the harvest season, feasting on the bounty of fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, and red meat if one is looking to be within tradition.
Purpose of Lughnasadh is to give thanks for the harvest and bounty received, securing commitments made in all relationships. It is a time to honor your elders in family and community and acknowledging the wisdom gained in our life's through the knowledge they so lovingly have given. Honoring the Earth for all she has blessed us with and recognizing the Sun God who has sanctified all life, preparing for the closing of the summer season.
